Invitation for Bids
Sealed Bids for the Louisville Lane Waterline Extension project will be received at the Office of the County Administrator, 129 Davis Street, Suite 204 (PO Box 217) Independence Virginia until 2:00 PM local prevailing time on September 12, 2024, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.
Project Description
The work to be performed hereunder shall include, but not be limited to, the construction of 2,975 linear feet of 8” watermain, 2 fire hydrant assemblies, blow off valve, air release valve, 14 watermeters and associated ¾” service line, one road bore, and related appurtenances and work items as shown on the plans and as described in the Contract Documents. Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as
indicated in the Bid Form.

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of Hurt & Proffitt located at 1861 Pratt Drive, Suite 1100, Blacksburg, Virginia 24060 upon payment of $200 for each set, or downloaded free of charge at https://www.handp.com/contact/bids/.
A PREBID CONFERENCE will be held at 10:00 A.M. local time on August 22, 2024 at the Grayson County Board Room, 129 Davis Street, Suite 204, Independence, Virginia. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Withdrawal of Bids
The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be in accordance with procedure (i) of Section 2.2 - 4330 of the Code of Virginia.
Contract Licensing
BIDDER’S attention is invited to the requirements of Section 54.1, Chapter 11 of the Code of Virginia pertaining to registration and contractor licensure. The bidder shall place on the outside of the envelope containing the bid and shall place in the bid over his signature whichever of the following notations is appropriate:
